What to Expect on Your First IV Treatment Visit

During your first visit, your doctor will review your health concerns in detail in order to understand your goals in having IV vitamin therapy. To ensure that the treatment is safe and effective for you, your Naturopath will also review your medical history, medications, supplements, family history and do a general assessment of your overall health. If IV therapy is indicated, you will receive a mini IV to ensure that you are able to tolerate treatments.

Prior to your appointment, it is always best that you have had something to eat and that you are very well hydrated. This will ensure a smooth and easy treatment. Your doctor will be there in order to ensure that your first drip runs smoothly and to answer any questions that you may have.

Our primary goal is to provide treatments that are both safe and effective. After your initial IV treatment, you will be sent for basic blood work to assess liver and kidney function. This is to ensure that your body will not have any impairment in processing IV nutrients

For patients who are interested or recommended our Premium IV therapies, an additional liver function test known as G-6-PD is required. A small percentage of the population does not process higher dosages of vitamin C so this test is mandatory in order to ensure these treatments are safe and effective for you.

Your doctor will then suggest a treatment plan based upon your initial assessment and recommend the course for future treatments. Your blood work results are available within a few days after going to the lab so you can move forward with your treatment plan a week or two after your initial IV therapy consultation.
