Thyroid Function and Health

Your thyroid is a small gland located at the base of your neck. It produces hormones that play an important role in maintaining energy, weight and mood. Imbalances (either underproduction or overproduction) in thyroid hormones can lead to changes in body temperature, heart rate, sleep, weight, energy and even menstrual cycles.

There are many reasons why your thyroid may be under-functioning, such as autoimmune conditions, stress, low-calorie diets, nutrient deficiencies and more. Our Thyroid Support IV includes nutrients specific to thyroid function.

About Our Thyroid Support IV

IV therapy for thyroid support provides nutrients that are important for thyroid health and proper functioning. Our bodies require certain nutrients (such as trace minerals selenium and zinc) to produce thyroid hormones within the thyroid gland as well as support conversion to its active form (free T3) throughout the rest of your body.

It has been shown that individuals with hypothyroidism may have lower than normal zinc levels and supplementing can be important to help maintain proper immune function. Selenium also plays a role in immune regulation. It has been shown that supplementation of selenium may lower thyroid antibodies in patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune thyroid condition commonly seen in women and individuals with celiac disease.

How to Book a Thyroid Support IV Therapy

To prepare for an IV vitamin therapy at Bronte Wellness Boutique, book an appointment to meet with a Naturopathic Doctor. Before receiving Thyroid Support IV Therapy or a different IV therapy, your Naturopathic Doctor will discuss your therapy goals and make sure it will be safe and effective for you.

At your first visit, your Naturopathic Doctor will administer a mini IV therapy to assess your tolerance. From there, you will be asked to go for blood work to assess your liver and kidneys’ functioning. Your Naturopathic Doctor will discuss the next steps for Thyroid Support IV Therapy following your blood work.
